Hey guys. Me, Ninja, Kimo and a few others have been working on creating a new gamemode called NEL(previously known as rookies). After a number of failed games Ninja managed to create a working program for the gamemode. The gamemode is comprised of a voting level and the challenge levels. I'll do my best to try and explain the game's mechanics.

Challenges:
First, when the event is started, the game starts with the first challenge. A challenge is a small game of a somewhat battle-like-event. The person who wins this will become POV(more on that later) in the voting level. After the voting level finishes, a new challenge is started, and there will be a POV from that level too.

Voting:
After each challenge, the event continues at the voting level. When the voting level starts, a random player will be chosen and he/she will become the HOH.

The HOH is allowed to select two nominees for voting. If the POV disagrees with the HOH's decision, the POV can decide to save one of the nominees using !save <number>. If such a thing happens, the HOH will have to choose another nominee. If the POV doesn't want to do anything with the nominees, he/she can use !ignore.

After two nominees have been selected, all the players that are in the game are then allowed to vote for the nominee that will go out by using !vote <number>. A counter shows allowing players to see how many votes each player has.

Final four players:
Once there are only four people left, no more challenges will be played. When there are four people left, the POV is allowed to select who will be 3rd and 4th using !3rd <number> and !4th <number> respectively. Finally, when there are only two people left, all the players that are spectating stop spectating and the two players that were in become nominees. All the players then vote for the nominees and the person with the most votes becomes the winner.

While all this might sound confusing at first, it really is a fun game that is easier to learn while playing, so don't worry about not understanding it(even I didn't at first). We have a website at JJ2NEL.com where stats will be updated for registered players, which also has a forum for any discussion about the gamemode. We'll be keeping players updated about events in the future and the status of everything. We are looking at making a suggestions section on the forum for any new ideas for the gamemode, so it can become what people think it should be. Be sure to sign up and check regularly for events. We hope to see you there!

You're right, it sounds a bit confusing if you haven't played it before. If school queits down a bit, I'll be sure to give it a try.

Anyway, good job on expanding JJ2, cool new gamemodes are always welcome emo

PS: Zoro/CR suggested the name NEL, didn't he? :p

Nostalgia warning, well, at least if you're one of those ppl...

Also, to stay ontopic, Will the clients need the program aswell, or only the server?

Good, I like Miku too, also some of the community-made UTAU rock.

Well, before Zoro arives and this turns into a vocaloid discussion, let me praise you on your web-design and hope that others have more relevant things to say than my rambling about vocaloids :p

Seen the page last week(checked it out after I saw the server).

All the POV's and HOH's are a bit unclear, but I'm sure I'll understand if you give me some timeemo

I played this ages ago, had no idea what was going on and still don't. ^^'
I remember tons of cryptic server messages along with people constantly typing !vote or !ignore, followed by rage about how the program didn't recognize the commands. It is nice to see though that people are still creating new gamemodes for Jazz Jackrabbit, maybe I'll give it a try once a NEL server is being hosted.

after a few tries it's actually easy to get how it works. the thing is you have to understand that rookies was never meant to become something serious so the idea of this thing is to have fun
