As most of you could have known, there will be National Tournament again this year.
First there will be a group stage, which will most likely include 2 groups with 4 or 5 teams.
Then there will be playoffs: semi-finals, final and a match for the 3rd place.
The mappool will consist out of non-classic maps. (almost no ladder mappool maps, no semi, je, ww, dw, super, bbswing etc.)
Every team will have 1 captain, who will be in charge of the team, this person will also be responsible for scheduling the matches with other captains and officials and will be responsible for their team to show up at the scheduled matches.
We still need more referees, if you are available contact me and I will decide if we can use you.
If you are interested in broadcasting, contact Grytolle.
Signing up rules:
-real countries will be favoured
-strong merged countries will likely be refused (for example if Sweden would play with Finland)
-B teams are allowed, if the slots cant be filled by real countries or merged ones
-teams with less than 5 players might be refused
When signing up please add:
-Your team's captain
-Email adresses/MSN from all players
Edit: If you cannot agree on one captain, the tournament supervisor will select one for you and provide you with a motivation for their choice (which, for lack of applicable criteria, might not amount to more than "gg, I made a coinflip xd").
The tournament will start in august.
You can sign up until the 27th of July 23:59 CEST. (GMT +2)

~Rules and the mappool will follow when ready and when Grytolle embeds the tourney into jj.net.

That said, I receive a shitload of spam now so I just turned this email address into a spam email address.
I recommend gmail. All the spam gets caught and put in the spam folder, and you can focus on the mails you want to read.
Still, I agree it isn't good practise to publicly post your mailaddress around the net... a lot of scripkiddies have programs that won't be faked by [at]....

Did you even read the sign up post about rules or did you just sign up after reading the title? Furthermore, when did knowing jjnet mappool define who the best players are? Think about it.

So, are you trying to say you can be a good player without being good in jj.net mappool maps? Yeah right. The community doesn't view it that way. For example, I pwn on TCS. No one cares, because TCS isn't in the mappool. I don't pwn on Semi, so I'm not a great player in the eyes of the community.

No, but it will consist of random mappool maps some teams have been training on, right?
EDIT: I added some more people to the Serbian team.
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
We ran to the sounds of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts,
and tore the world asunder.

I'm sure a healthy dose of old and new can be found?
There's good (and bad) reasons for the continued popularity of some maps and that should be taken into account.
Adding new levels to the pool forces people to train new levels which also isn't bad in the long run.
It's like listening to a new track - you might not like it at first, but it slowly grows on you until it becomes one of your favourite songs.
But don't be just all out dissing new levels (although tbh, if they're in the pool or were in the pool, they're hardly new - DoS for example) or old ones, because of invalid reasons (being too lazy to try new stuff on the one hand, or being the producer/creator of the "new stuff" in which case you ofc have a vested interest for the community to see how awesome and great your creation is, but please accept the fact that there tends to be a time lag between creation and acceptance. In arts especially, and levelmaking is some sort of an artform).
M'kay?

I don't have a problem with other non-mappool levels that might be in the mappool. I don't have a problem with FF and GW, I don't like DoS but that's not the point. The problem is that the mappool is advertised as an awesome collection of underplayed levels everyone will like, but stuff like FF, GW and DoS is added. If you want to add those, then don't say your mappool is so original and different from the jj.net ladder mappool.

non-classic maps are in my opinion a very good idea, its actually a very good improvement to a tournament in this game because with old maps it would really suck.
for me it was always interesting to learn new levels and that should make this tournament more refreshing.
really I think that people should really get a grip and learn some new levels instead of having attitude, OMG THIS SUCK, LETS /C SEMI, what i think can be seen on zd every single day.
I'd sign some people up but I think someone else will do it later today, probably. I guess I should convince him not to.

It's a good level. Not as good as some (there are also similar levels in the ZD levellist - it's a shame no one checks it!), but quite better than some of the levels that are currently in the jj.net mappool.

for a level to be better then level in jjnet mappool isnt really an achievement people should really redo it and stop being lazy XD
EDIT: if I can suggest something I suggest you to /c eztrig while at any ZD for new/good levels

[s]Respect Rag and don't /c to his abandoned, hardly-finished, and badly balanced (no wonder "good players" like it) eztrig.[/s] Thanks SJ!
Lithium:
The problem is that the mappool is advertised as an awesome collection of underplayed levels everyone will like
It is exactly what it's advertised as. You'll probably find ways to dislike it anyway, though.
Even if Kyro did not actually ask MS about the maps (I believe he did, he doesn't troll often like some people), there is a high chance of GW and DoS getting in. GW isn't overplayed when compared to the maps that won't be in for sure, like Semi and JE. However, GW is still overplayed (not like Semi) and if it gets in then the mappool can't be called original and different.
EDIT: Confirmed, MS actually told Kyro about the maps.

i understand what u guys mean and its true that having new or underplayed maps would be cool.but an entire mappool made only with maps like these would be stupid, making this tournament a shit!
