Today Lithium brought up the point to me that although the game League of Legends is advertised as "free-to-play," it actually costs money to buy the game contents, basically paying to unlock the contents of the game, after downloading the game. Although this kind of has nothing to do with me, it's a fair point that LoL really isn't free-to-play, even though it's advertised as such. How would you describe it? It's really an expensive online store, within a downloadable computer program. (That description, though, is more-or-less ignoring the game itself completely, but that might describe its pricing and storefront setup decently.)
