If you explain how would it benefit everyone and not just nubs who don't feel like being blamed for enemy scoring when they lose the flag, then I might support the idea.

Well, I'm not really sure how passing works (as I think you have to look up then your teammate-flagholder should shot at u then u take the flag)

But just imagine - if the connection is good enough (not 500+ MS, airs anyway happens) for every player (depends on how it is - 2v2/3v3) and passing is on - It may make new way to train in teamplay - in other words -
Maybe this function has a lot of bugs - or it's slow to pass flag to your teammate before getting roasted - but If we'll think about adding full stable flag-passing (in new JJ2+), then we'll do a new sub-genre of CTF I think...

OFFTOPIC: Also I think it will be nice to add flag-drop function in new JJ2 (like in UT, when flagholder dies, the flag doesnt return on the base - it drops where's flagholder is died. for example if blue players touches dropped blue flag - it returns to base)

The chances of Blur making a new jj2+ are pretty small, so don't place your hopes on this...
Also, no. No new 'genres' (gamemode?) to add only 1 feature.

As for my JJ2.5, I'll not include random things like this myself, but you are free to get the source and add them yourself. If they are coded good + popular, I will include them as an option.

Urgh... Friendly fire and passing flag depends on custom maps i think.
Need specially based levels for such kinds of functions...

Friendly fire is good, but just not suited for a game like jj2.

Late Edit: Yes, most likely it will be in C++. How to extend/write plugins is still under discusson...

Probably yes, but everything may be... For games like JJ2 it probably ofc will be fail.
Even in Soldat 2D it could be a lil annoying imo... But just imagine - if we've given
a chance to those functions to have atleast 1-2 ladders just for test...

Well, I certainly wouldn't want to make it a rule. You don't go to any kind of a chess council during world championship or whatever and tell them "hey guys, I think that maybe we should change the rules a bit, I'd like knights to move a bit differently". But if you play with cool friends and just for fun there should be no problem about it. So I think it should at least be allowed during ladders, upon mutual agreement, and same goes to any other options of this kind. If someone manages to succeed at finding teammates and opponents to play with untypical settings they should be rewarded with being able to submit it as a ladder.
