Yeah, It seems a bit to big for a box on the side/top. I had fun making it though, so I won't be that sad if it'll not get used. Just know it is there, for if you ever need such a thing.

Is there anything the site could use atm? I looked at most stuff in the topic (the one in the crew forum) and most is either done or doesn't seem that relevant anymore. Maybe the subscribe to topic function...

That's a good idea! You can also try to repair the script that generates stuff based on chatlogs... I lost the database structure by mistake and the install file wasn't properly updated. Therefore a couple of columns are even less functional than before.. :c

As to the initial topic, perhaps you could turn that into a tiny handheld version of the website, doing the same thing with latest forum posts and perhaps another few useful links

With a handheld version, do you mean targeted at mobile phones or just a small lil' site?

I'll check out the subscribe functionality when I have some free time, probably this weekend.

As for the chatlogs, I'll see what I can do. I actually have an unfinished project lying around for server-side saving of replays, but I never had the time to finish it when college kicked in....
It would be awesome if the camel servers could generate and save replay files, and jj.net would have an in-browser player for those. It's possible and I know how to do it, only it would require quite some investment of time so I'd have to find a holiday to do it... Guess I'll fix the chatlog-based generating first.

Replay files would be awesome!

For the recording of replays I would need to have access to JJ2's (server-side) data. There are roughly 2 approaches for this:

- Let jj2+ save it, it already has access to all the data needed.
- Use injection or read jj2's memory from the outside.

The second approach seems the best here, because the first would require me to rely a lot on the jj2+ team, and I'm sure they have other priorities (+ real lives as well).
I think I'd need a small program that records it server-side (CD has linux & wine I guess), and then just a player in html5 or WebGL. Could work, but will take some time....

Still jj.net will be awesome if you can just view played ladders back...

You could just join the + team and add it yourself. Making it possible to sign into your jjnet account when youre about to play a ladder would be cool too and automatically submitting the scores/stats after each round.

On another note, pls fix how spëciäl characters are treated in comments and match descriptions! Me and Loon lost the pimpedness of our nicks in the stats of our last ladder :c

I'll ask them if I can make that functionality some time, though I feel like working on a prototype by myself first... The connection with JJ.net is a great idea, I was already planning that in my remake of jj2 but as you know it never got finished...

I have a lot of homework this weekend, but I should at least get those special chars done...

Sorry, what question do you mean? If it is about the jj2plus devteam, I'm gonna post that today over at JCF. Edit: posted.

Yes, this shouldn't be that hard to code. We need to think about security though, we wouldn't want some spammer to create an acc here, log in on it @ jj2 and start spamming new matches to the site.

İ think that JJnet might use port ~404 for browsing the main site via http protocol.

Port 403 should be for cookies, but JJnet doesnt seem to have cookies. İ guess port 403 is for ftp updating of duels servers level lists.

Not sure how else you'd try to send packets to JJnet from JJ2's command line.

Hopefully, 401 is for the İP address or URL, 402 is for JJ2 to WWW, 403 is 2-way and 404 is for WWW to JJ2.

İ would imagine that JJ2's server-side data is only accessible through Epic, or whatever computer is running the server list.

As for the character map...

JJ2 should be using MİDİ notes for letters, numbers for numbers, basic Windows button schemata and Python generation of ASCİİ scripting.

İf you replace the entire input mechanism for JJ2 from being MİDİ to being ASCİİ, that could allow the additional letters and characters you're referring to.

However, the DLL for chat logger is proprietary. You would seriously have to emulate it just to generate a coherent version of any output extracted from said DLL itself. İn other words, dont edit the chat logger - just make a post-script that reads it, scans it and performs interpretive analysis.

Why? What's wrong with the default HTTP port (80)?
KRSplatinum wrote:

Cookies are a part of the HTTP protocol and are sent through the same port as the HTTP server. JJnet has cookies used for storing the PHP session ID as well as your account login details if you use the "remember me" function.

What? JJ2 has no "command line" or whatever you are talking about.

This doesn't make any sense.

There are two lists, one is hosted by Nimrod and the other by Camel.

What. Do you even know what you're saying?

Even if this doesn't seem to make any sense, there is a total of 128 MIDI notes, while ASCII allows a total of 256 different characters. JJ2 already uses ASCII.

Why would you need to do that?

First of all, üktk, u can make a splash screen for your recrnt matches controı.

That would alloü you to make a mobile app version of your webpage.

And Zepect, first of all, we dont use the same programming language.

İ have Windose8.1 and İ dont know what you have as your OS on your PC. And its not an RPG so im not using game maker either.

Furthermore, im not here to waste grytolle or zeal's time making webpages for JJnet.

But it would be possible to add your box score readings to the top left area of the main page, just take down the download link to JJ2 and post a frame above it including wktk's page .

And to begin 2 answer your qüestion, zepect, the command line is JJ2's chat.

Please do note that JJ2 is JJ1+MS-DOS.
