Hey guys, Berkan here. This thread is only for programmers. I don't know how to make prograns for phones. I would like to ask: can someone do a JCS for ios or android. It would be great, because if someone is bored, they could continue a j2l. At school, outside.. everywhere! If someome is interested on that project. I have some ideas for the design. You can post it here, or you can write me a msg in jj.net or my mail: crazy_berkan53@hotmail.de yahoo: crazy_berkan53@yahoo.com skype: takoz53. Thanks for the upcoming replys

WebJCS from your browser (chrome) on your android phone? Or doesn't that work?

I guess it wouldnt. I've read that my phone uses safari. as I said, people should be able to use it everywhere. I'm not going to buy me some internet flat to make levels for Zeal Relaxer, Alpha and ZD, though. If someone could do this awesomeness JJ2 will get upgraded with new levels. People got bored of the same levels. It would be an advantage for others like me. It's 1:28. I would make some levels now bcuz im bored and dont wanna sleep. I guess it's a nice idea. I hope someone is going to do this Pocket JCS. Also great idea, but it won't work emo tyemo

1 minute of google-fu. You need android 4.0 or up, but if you have a good phone (read: one of the major brands, samsung, htc, etc.) your manufacturer should have provided an upgrade for that long ago emo

I have a 4.1 tablet, I'll test if it works on the mobile version sometime. If not, time to bug DJazz for mobile support emo

Chrome works nice on iOS, but WebJCS doesn't work there...
You need a mouse to use WebJCS, or you have to recode it for it to work
I have no idea how JCS would be supposed to work with touch screen :/

What is touch screen? Joke.

Better make JJ2 available on Android. At least GIP for Android would be good. iOS sucks. Never liked it. And also, can someone tell me what phone is the best up to 170e on PM, with newer Android OS? Currently I have Android 2.2.2 Froyo. My phone can't handle 60% of games on Google Store.

It's an old screenshot from 15th of November 2011. I used Android 2.3.x back then.

Yes, there's Chrome for Android. But I barely use it. I tried loading WebJCS with Chrome, but it runs even smoother with the default browser. However I don't recommend anyone to use it on a smartphone since it's very difficult to use it on a touchscreen.

Well, since the Topic went off-topic and even got locked, I'll just edit my message to answer.
My phone's resolution is 800x480 and I'm using Samsung Galaxy S2.

That's racist.

What is your phone screen resolution?

I tried WebJCS with Chrome on my 4.1 tablet. It loads with decent FPS, but somehow it doesn't let me pick tiles from the tileset window. I can succesfully edit level properties and place events.

800x480, going from the size of that screenshot. Nothing unusual, my Samsung Galaxy SII has that size as well IIRC.

IOS = limited, Apple decided what works and what doesn't. Didn't even support trivial things like USB in the beginning. You don't own your phone, you rent it from Apple according to their license.

Android = Linux, open source. If anything isn't added yet, some coders around the world will quickly add it. Also free, and you can do with it whatever you want.

Now tell me, which of those 2 has a higher probabillity of supporting jj2 related content, which is:
- Not popular
- Old
- Copyrighted

No problem if you get it wrong first time, but remember, this will be on the test emo
In the meantime, hf on your limited phone that isn't yours, and sends private data and GPS info to apple which sells it to 3rd parties.

It's ok for me to have limited abilities in iOS, why would I care about it sending my private information to Apple? They have so many users, I don't think they would "choose" me and "hack" me
I am happy with iOS how it is. I don't need any other features like inserting a USB stick into my phone (lol)
I understand people complain that they can't change lock screen, they can't add themes etc until they do jailbreak (or jailbreak won't help too in some cases, I don't know)
I don't care, it's good for me how it was when I bought it, I don't want to change anything
Also I don't use jailbreak

Overall, you need those unlimited possibilities and open source, you like it. I don't need those, so I don't like. I wouldn't want to change everything on Android so it looks like it is iOS by downloading patches and stuff transferring installing etc

oh and yeah, I would like to run stuff that was designed only for iOS on Android, how do I do this?

That's what everyone thinks... Of course, there is little chance that you will get hacked or whatever, but having a corporation store your personal data is kinda disturbing, especially if you see what direction is our society heading in.

Your logic is flawed - you don't dislike something just because it has a few more features you won't need. But we're off topic here.

Ok, what about iOS-only apps?
If Android has unlimited possibilities and is open source, then how can I use those on Android?
I am used to iOS and apps that are not available for Android, do you understand? (especially games)

@zepect: I think it's useless to talk about this topic, there will always be people who spread bullshit myths and even believe them themselves (such as "your limited phone that isn't yours, and sends private data and GPS info to apple which sells it to 3rd parties.") – facepalm. This has been corrected for since over two years.

This has been corrected for over two years? Great, I'm happy for all the Applephiles who finally own their phone now.
It is, however, still limited because Apple restricts what you, the user, can do with it.

It's great that you are satisfied with the features Apple offers, however this does not mean IOS is not limited. It just means the limits do not bother you, for you can do everything you want with your phone.

About sending private data, such as location, to Apple, that was a international affair and has been featured in newspapers worldwide. that Apple got scared of the negative attention and promised not to do it again, doesn't mean it never happened. You should still watch out with a company who clearly has no moral values, and will do such things unless the general public objects on a grand scale.

For all of these "bullshit myths" is written evidence, which I can link here if you really don't believe it. No big company is perfect. Google isn't, Borland isn't, Microsoft isn't and Apple also certainly is not.

Why? What was the topic again? Ah, yeah, of course! Just another "I have no coding experience but I think this program would be cool, plz make it for me now".
To be honest I find this 'derailed' topic of more use... Anyway:

I was planning a JCS for mobile, however I don't have time atm because of school, and other projects. Also I don't really see the value, not much ppl here have a smartphone they would use for that...

While the actual thread topic is indeed lame, it does exist and this conversation would be off-topic (although not heavily). I will lock this now, if you want to continue iOS vs Android make a new thread. (but watch out)
