I wonder if JJ2 can be made for PSP. The game does not require much. A game that works on Windows 95-98 , does not require much.
I hope that there is someone out there , who can make JJ2 work on psp.

There is one , that works with dosbox , but you don't need to install dosbox on psp , I will send you the link to the one that was made with dosbox , " Eboot file" , if you install it on PSP/GAMES , the game will appear as a psp game.
Unfortunately , this one works only at 95/99% speed , but the game works 100% , so don't worry. I recomend this one , It is the original.
JJ1 WAS MADE FOR PSP
For those who don't know , there is a homebrew one , it is not yet finished but it has all the music ,all the levels ,the game works at full speed:

JJ2 on PSP as a "psp-application" is going to take a lot of work. You might have to rewrite a lot of the game, if not all of it. I can't say I have much experience in programming for the PSP, but I can guess It'll be hard to port JJ2 to the PSP without the sourcecode.
I think there is a bigger chance in using an emulator, although speed/directX support might be an issue.
A google search + slashdot gave me this:
http://dl.qj.net/psp/emulators/bochs-x86-emulator.html
A x86 emulator on the PSP that succeeded in running Win95 and Linux. I don't have my PSP here at the moment, but I might try it out in a few weeks and post the results. Don't expect to much however, emulators are mostly buggy. And you'll WILL need custom firmware on your PSP, and an ISO/homebrew loader.

But to be honest, I'd like to see JCS for mobile phones, or for example psp. Would be fun.
I'm planning on making an android app for this. However, at the moment I'm very busy on jj2-android gip and my servers, let alone college. So maybe I'll start a project like this next year. I can't promise anything though...

It would be fun to have jj1-jj2 on anything ... not only psp . Even on mobile phones or other portable gaming devices .. like NDS , GPX2 ....
I have a PSP , currently the best portable gaming device , that runs almost any kind of game " NES ; SNES ; DOS ; N64 ; SEGA ; GAMEBOY " COLOR & ADVANCE " ; PS1 ; flash games .....
The best way to play jj2 on a portable gaming device , would be the PSP , has the best resolution ,screen size , colors ..... you can connect it to the TV.
The PSP can do many.

I have trinked with my PSP before, the problem wasn't related to JJ2 itself, but rather transferring it over.
Also, for the record, I'm not really going for anything playable here. Just so you know.

Good luck, Jake!
Seems like you beat me to it XD
Let us know how it turns out, I know some ppl would be interested in this. :chatter:
by the way, how are you planning to run it? an emulator or some other thingamajig?
(and lonely psp is lonely...)
All the Jazz jackrabbit fans want jj2 ported to psp. The thing is that JJ2 has not been ported to any portable gaming device , or mobile phone ... you will be the first person to succeed. You will make many fans proud , especially me . If you started working on it , finish it , make it work. Don't give up.
I know that programming is very hard and complicated , but what I also know ,is that there are many other games that were ported to psp , wich had more files than JJ2. JJ2 doesn't require much , has not so many files.
We should all help you ,to finish the game faster.
In the name of all the JJ. fans , I wish you good luck , hope you will succeed.

When I installed mac os 8 on psp , in enetered its folder , i found there a game folder , where I put jj2 mac game.
Mac os recognised the game ,but failed to run it. Said something about "powerpc"
Probably the mac os 8 isn't strong enough to run the game.
I tried to install jj2 on psp.
But didn't worked , cause of the emulator.

I don't own a PSP so I don't care about seeing JJ2 on PSP or any console period. Fuck all consoles.
The time you've wasted posting here could have been spent on playing JJ2 on the PC as intended, ever consider that?

He's not porting it, he's emulating it.

My man!
No really, I don't think we need JJ2 on PSP.
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
We ran to the sounds of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts,
and tore the world asunder.

This thread is for those who want jj2 on psp , for those who have an idea in making the game , or emulating it...
