Yes, this thing...really, you'd get more attention about the issue if you posted about it, rather than in a serverlist, because no one knows what the link is really about in the first place.
First off, the camel duels servers are PLUS ONLY because plus allows you to join servers with a larger port range. Basically, plus allows you to host more JJ2 servers with the same router. Also, it uses joiners spectate, which is plus only, and it would be disruptive if that were taken off, especially in the middle of games. So, this is not a bug, and completely understandable.
Test by NC shares the same host of "The Server", so in order to make it work for non plus users, The Server would have to go down, or someone not hosting any other server, must be found to host it instead.
The Eagle is server is plus only, because it only runs a single level which completely relies on a script.
The Camel help server issue got fixed, recently.
The eko server clan is run by the same host of camel help server, so that can't be fixed.
TL;DR: Non plus users cannot join servers that don't use the 10052 port, which only be used once.
You can play this game online???

Someone is complaining about the lack of vanilla jj2 compatible servers by posting an image in the serverlist, and I'm explaining why most of the servers are that way.
Is that hard to understand?

Ehrm... You know, if you're gonna reply to every uploaded image that concerns some topic you have bonds with, like jj2, you're gonna spend a huge part of your remaining years on the internet doing so... Not to mention that the creators of said images might not frequent the places you post...
btw, If someone has time to make an image like that and write all that stuff there, but not to download a single mod which adds SO much more to jj2, the he/she isn't worth replying to anyway.

Uh...I've only replied to an image publicly once (which is this). You're implying that I do this a lot. This felt like such a big deal over the person whoever made that, so I wanted to clear things up. I rarely reply to images.
However, the server the servername is hosted on is plus only, so I doubt that. They probably don't want it to be as restricted.
Though I have a feeling it's Micky, judging by the broken English, excess context, and that he has some kind of persecution complex against some of the community (let's just say he made some hanging pic showing some community members, don't ask), which is why he won't post here. I have had to correct his ignorance before.
Some people still use vanilla JJ2 because they only have LK Avalon, and won't download any other version because "Itz illegul!" even though it's abandonware. Or to my frustration, won't bother to learn useful things like downloading and transferring.
Sadly, it may been true I wasted time making this, whatever. I mean in the end, there's nothing to discuss on this thread.

What I didn't understand is why would someone even bother making an image as stupid as that. However, wKtK has a point, it might have not been worth replying to.
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
We ran to the sounds of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts,
and tore the world asunder.

In a way it's a serious problem for people who don't know what JJ2+ is and can't join any servers when they open the list, without knowing why.. If someone could host a dedicated non-plus server that would be great

Or perhaps instead of linking to a image complaining about random stuff, link to a page with detailed information about JJ2+?

I doubt there are many players who seriously have this problem. J2O and JJnet are two of the highest links when searching "Jazz Jackrabbit." Maybe it would be easy to make the patches an obvious feature of front pages for these sites. Let's say it's possible that someone browsing could miss the download links for plus or 1.23 patches; on JJnet it has a graphic link to download JJ2 essentials, which is hard to miss. J2O doesn't promote abandonware, but for patches, the link might be not too apparent, especially to those who don't speak Ingles.
And Relaxer and the Server are great servers for non-plussers--thanks Shaker and Sfaiszt for hosting them. The other servers explain that a version is incompatible when you can't join. One way of promoting patching is putting a good URL as servername for a server, or in a public server welcome message. Well, still everyone will not upgrade to plus, but I believe if anyone want to, then they can, albiet they may risk having their computer confiscated and being jailed for illegally downloading 2-dimensional tortoise and the hare game. ;p

Them not knowing what jj2+ is isn't the problem, the image even states some plus commands in the text, so it's kinda obvious this person knows what jj2+ is...

^What everyone thinks. Just, lol.
Which would still make it a problem for people who don't know what JJ2+ is. Anubis isn't talking about the one who made the picture, whoever made the picture just pointed out what can be a problem for newbies.

Should wait with updating the installer until the new plus is out, fairly soon.
Or you can update it now with the current plus. And when the new plus releases, update it again.

Actually I don't even know how to do it and I'm not sure if any of the active site admins know how to deal with it either. It was probably added by DZ a long time ago and it would probably need him to have it updated again. (Or not.)

In the past, there was the link to Digiex forum with a thread about how to download JJ2. The thread got removed (I don't know why). So I told admins to put another link. And someone made this installer, I don't remember who

I made the installer. The problem is that the new plus developers stopped using the same location for the latest download for some reason. The installer could be updated, but I'm not sure where I have the source code.

yeah, it was http://jazz2online.com/d3/plus.zip, now it is http://jazz2online.com/jj2plus/plus.zip
Another thing in the installer is "Download Zeal multiplayer levels". There are no Zeals anymore.
Would be nice if you could find the source and fix this!

EDIT 2 These installers found on warez CD i made when I was kid.
FINAL EDIT: Here is the file https://mega.co.nz/#!3NNzkIBb!M4_8Iw0f0JlvNeqLxm036kRZBq9CumgqJ1tGzrtb18c

So send me a message with the old and new URLs so I can make the old one redirect, I'm not that hard to contact
