Go to2018-05-31[NT 2018] Sign Ups Im not sure what Jelly means by that either, we have never refused someone switching country because they had already played for another. Please forgive him, he's a newbie in the staff emo
I hope Germany will be able to participate again in the future, but that can only be the case if it's players show some interest in jj2 imo. emo
Go to2018-05-31[NT 2018] Sign Ups I found I might be elligible to play for Team Poland this year because I have lived there "for at least 4 months" (one year in 2013). Since Poland at the time was also having difficulties assembling a proper team, Krzysiek asked me last week if I'm interested in playing for Team Poland. I accepted the offer in the last moment after Team Germany was unable to provide a confirmed 4th player on time.

I'm not sure what you mean by "But if he doesn't play a single match in the tournament, he can be part of Germany again in future tournaments." I know the rules aren't ready yet, but I hope this situation won't stop me from playing for Team Germany again in future tournaments. Team Germany is willing to come back better prepared next time emo
Go to2018-05-31[NT 2018] Sign Ups Team Germany wasn't accepted. After a lot of thinking it was decided to let him be part of Team Poland now. It's confusing but I'm sure that Anubis, as well as Team Poland and the rest of the NT crew, can clear that up.

But if he doesn't play a single match in the tournament, he can be part of Germany again in future tournaments.

Glad to see I haven't been forgotten yet emo. However, I cannot (and will not) guarantee my availability for a National Tournament. Given the amount of people from the Netherlands, that shouldn't be a problem really (unless the majority of these players are inactive, as mentioned above).

I consider myself as one of those (highly) inactive people, only occassionally dropping by here and there. I'll do my best to remain updated regarding the NT, and maybe I can join a game if time (and life) allow for it. If I can't attend, either as spectator or participant, or forget about the NT altogether, I'd like to wish everyone good luck and lots of fun in advance!

Go to2018-05-26[NT 2018] Sign Ups Would be cool to see other teams, but no pressure!

Bit of a side-note but I thought it might be cool to implement voting with regards to mappool stuff. That way pretty much every country gets a say...!
Go to2018-05-24[NT 2018] Sign Ups I think USA, PL, Egy and Ger have the ability to get a team, but especially Ger has a very small team only.
If Anubis is gone all of June, they might not have a chance to play in June emo

Possibility of setting deadline won't be accepted by me so officially start it in July.

We will do our best, together with the team captains, to make it as nice as possible. The NT has Always had a history of incomplete squads due to school/holidays though.

As far as I know TD doesn't even want to participate. Im sure Ahmo and Anna would be able to find an hour or two in a week where they arent studying if they are interested to play the NT at all. If not then they have A7med and CS for example

Why don't you wait to have a real tournament? If you want CS and A7med then contact them to sign up a team for fun tournament 2018
Go to2018-05-22[NT 2018] Sign Ups For me starting in July would also be better, as I'm completely unavailable in June (foreign country at GMT+9 and no access to laptop or computer) and it might be difficult to get backup for Germany. Of course we'll try to get as many players as possible emo

And definitely ask FireSworD for the USA, he occasionally shows interest in competitive play.

P.S. I can technically play for Poland lol, lived there for one year.

Im sure Ahmo and Anna would be able to find an hour or two in a week where they arent studying if they are interested to play the NT at all. If not then they have A7med and CS for example, just to name a few. Last year the tournament started in July and then we also had to deal with people not being able to play, we couldn't even play the final with the strongest lineups.

From my experience the best time would be somewhere in late July-early August. This will allow many players who'd otherwise be too busy have a chance to play on a potential summer vacation. Though ofc there will be players who are going on a trip instead, etc.

Like I said before in the other thread, it would be essential to time it well, even if some people are already getting excited to play. Having seen Kyro's and Artegor's statements as well, I'm feeling more certain that the tournament should start around July 1st the earliest.

Besides, we are going to have the final stage of the ladder for the next month or so. It would be good to get most of those games out of the way first, at least.

It will start before July, probably not end before July though. Unfortunately there are Always people who can't play in each week. I guess both Egypt and Serbia will be capable of getting other players to play

That's a dangerous thing to say if you want countries to participate, not scare them off.
Serb should be able to get a proper team (for example with Toni), even without Arte in the first round or 2.
For Egypt however, that's not the case because basically 3/4th of their normal team is graduating :p.

Go to2018-05-22[NT 2018] Sign Ups Its all about this: A team should have at least 4 players (one for backup)
beside those 4 you can add as many players as you want, just in case, everyone has been doing that for years….
Go to2018-05-22[NT 2018] Sign Ups P-F and I have agreed we could play for team USA in NT, however we would need a 3rd player for 3v3, so this is conditional on if we can find 1 more player. If this comes down to "fantasy" teams then I would want to be open for other players from North and South America to join, if there are any interested. I'm not sure how much that would be rule-bending or not, given the general lack of active players from USA and the fact we are only one country - opening the borders to a whole 2 continents is a bit of a stretch for a "national" tournament. But who knows, tourney needs teams, and anything is possible.
Go to2018-05-22[NT 2018] Sign Ups I'll be the back up of the backup's backup. emo
Go to2018-05-21[NT 2018] Sign Ups Uh, so one can just sign up their country team just by naming whatever players exist out there? Without any verification of them being able to play in practise? That way it would be easier done than said to sign up Team Finland. But knowing the motivation level of most of our players it's hard to gather even 3 players who would be able to play for real.

I'm pretty sure the Dutch roster contains quite a few names who have been inactive for years and who I bet wouldn't show up for a match (and I'm not talking about Shadow). Xd

Go to2018-05-21[NT 2018] Sign Ups Inspired by the public demand, the 6th edition of the legendary National Tournament safely returns!

The tournament structure will depend on how many teams sign up! One way is groups and knockout stage if there are enough teams, and another is league system with play offs.
The map pool will consist out of a good mix of old classics, less-played maps and newer maps.

Every team will have 1 captain, who will be in charge of the team. This person will also be responsible for scheduling the matches with other captains and officials and will be responsible for their team to show up at the scheduled matches. We will create a Skype group with all captains for announcements and scheduling information.

For a player to be eligible to participate in a country's team, he/she must be known to live in that country currently or have lived there for at least 4 months.

To make things fair, we are going to do the signups with 2 phases. In the first phase, only real countries are accepted as teams. However, a country may have multiple teams sign up. A team should have at least 4 players (one for backup). If there is any dispute about team names, the crew will help settling with them.

In the second phase (if there are still spots left), "fantasy teams" may also be accepted (mixed nationalities), but real country teams are still favoured. To determine whether a fantasy team is "legit" to enter the tournament is up to the crew to decide. The crew will try to stay fair and consistent in it's decisions.

When signing up please add:
-Your team's captain
-Your team's roster

If you cannot agree on one captain, the crew will select one for you and provide you with a motivation for the choice.

The tournament will start in early June.

Real country teams may now sign up until May 31st, 23:59 CEST (GMT +2).

GL HF!

Rules and the mappool will follow when ready.
