I'll throw some meanings. Since this is a clan ladder site, I'd expect most to be consumers, so I'll post this on J2O too, for the other portion of the community.
Producer: Usually a levelmaker. Also can be a programmer. Sometimes a tileset maker, though those are rare these days.
Consumer; Usually a competitive player, or was one. They are dedicated to winning, and so usually stick to a small selection of maps.
Complete casual: Takes what maps are there, doesn't focus on certain maps, nor create anything.
Both: They tend to be CTF and battle map makers. EDIT: Now that I thought about it, they aren't really that rare, they just have phases.
You can play this game online???

I consider myself something between a competative and casual player. As a level/script maker the stuff I produce is more for fun than for serious play. Also I like to play different gamemodes like in JDC events or competative tb, last but not least I like to play different maps more than the same level over and over.

I am a consumer, but I do play any decent level. In the real world producers produce according to the consumers demand. Here producers make some things and let us vote on it, seems very democratic, but it isnt.

That method could work to poll consumer demand, the biggest problems in this community being the speed (kinda slow feedback, not continuous) and amount (3 judges, 5? clans) of feedback...
Then again, we can't go kidnap levelmakers and order them to make this and that map exactly... or can we?

Gry, you like games. Imagine I let you vote between a jumping rope, marbles and toy cars. Wouldn't make you very happy I think. Thats why I agree with you that next time clans should bring forward new maps again just like before. They are probably gonna pick the same maps that got voted out the previous season, but well that seems to be what they want, the few players who do enjoy learning and playing new maps shall have to do so in a non ladder related way.

Yeah, but my point is that it's mostly the same thing in the real-world economy. You get a few options to pick between, and in many cases none of them are particularly appealing. You go to the supermarket and pick between different kinds of toothpaste, but very rarely do you contact a toothpaste producer, tell him exactly what you want and then get it.
Same thing in existing democratic systems: you pick between parties or you pick between yes and no

Oh hey wait, what if we arranged meetings on every weekend to play other gamemodes, it would be so nice, we have so many gamemodes to play!
Oh and what if clans would get points for them in the ladder so it would encourage people to participate!!!
So maybe producer people would get some respect : ) dat would be so cool.

Sounds like a fun idea, though I'm sure there'll be enough people who'd have some to whine about. After all, we shouldn't mistake a 'rush-ctf-as-fast-as-you-can' ladder for a 'lets-have-fun-in-a-game' ladder. At the end, it won't work, something negative will happen, people will flame, and it'll all turn out to be yet another 'conspiracy' of gry in order to help camels conquer the world.
First meeting jailbreak?
EDIT: and as Splat said, there is already a ladder for that though I doubt anyone plays there...

Allright true. Also, the scoring for such events would be very difficult.
Actually I just want to play something else than CTF and I do believe that there are people who'd like that too. So the working idea would be if there would be an arranged time, every week like Saturday 7:00pm when some people gather to play something from the lots of gamemodes we have, as a matter of fact.
So, how about Today at 7pm, to gather somewhere and play? (JaikBreak would be great, I love JailBreak)
EDIT: Maybe it could be shown somewhere like at J2O or here in the news, so that some people would get the info (btw if someone would like this too, could you help me, to let it happen?)

Put up a new thread, I'll frontpage it if needed.
I would like to participate, though I'm not sure if I can, having some tsundere problems lately :p
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
We ran to the sounds of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts,
and tore the world asunder.

Also this seems like a great idea. An 'unofficial' meeting, just for people who want to have some fun in other gamemodes. If the camels won't/can't host it, I might be able to set up a semi-dedicated server and make lith/gry/rabb/someone else admin of it.

Explain?

For what reason? Well let's figure that in order to either produce or consume - both of which are good - it's necessary to just randomly vote in a poll at this time.
At this time, being completely casual seems like a good way to both produce and consume. Complete causality produces and a complete casual consumes.
I make levels, play games, learn music, draw art, write fanfics, tell stories, rap names, from JJ2. So I obviously both produce and consume. =) Biologically, I think that I am both.
I choose to ##CC.
