Go to | 2013-07-06 | Taking a break from hosting | Thank you very much, Zeal. You have done so much for this community, all the duels, ladders and clanwars that were played on your servers. I will miss them. I might also host a dedicated server, because I finally am living on my own now and finally have my own router I can forward on.
By the way, what will happen to ZSTATS now? |
Go to | 2013-01-20 | Unbans | 40 year ban I get the (symbolic) point, but jj2? 40 years?
And what's with the constant *****in' about the admins? They are volunteers, be glad they offered to take the position. Same goes for Zeals, or whatever server. We are not paying them, they are doing this out of their own accord.
They have NO obligation to provide any level of service to the community whatsoever. Sorry for going all cliche here, but if you can do it better, please show us! If your server is better in almost all aspects than the Zeals are, it will become the new standard duel/cw server.
If you get a free sample of a drink in your local mall, insulting the guys who gave it to you because you find it taste bad only makes you a jerk. However, constructive criticism as to how it could be improved makes you a helpful asset to the whole system.
Then again, most people here are intelligent enough to already have understood this after a few years. Now to hope they act according to it... |

Go to | 2012-10-30 | poll | Sean's TL;DR: Playing a lot of 1vs1 matches will cause players to grow too independent, causing their team-play to worsen.
^So, should RDS just forbid ppl from playing battle? It causes you to focus more on killing everyone, and less on surviving or tactics.
We shouldn't refuse an extra ladder option just because some individuals find it hard to remember more than 1 strategy/playstyle, IMHO. |

Also gj rage-quitting jj2 because of lag, or whining about it. jj2 IS lag, it has been lag for years and it will be lag for years. If you are going to rage about lag, 3hk's or airs you should just leave the game while you are still sane and start playing a awesome, modern game that everyone likes because it's so cool. Like CoD.

Go to | 2012-08-17 | RDS vs. [CDF] (CTF ladder match) | RDS vs CDF. RDS wins.
Then MS complains about RDS being "unfair" because "CC is capable of playing ladder matches on it's own". Further I have to note the team that beat CDF, as well as rush these ladders, consists solely of CC members.
So tell me, exactly why is this unfair? aEs, a clan with few active members makes an alliance with CC, a clan that was also a bit inactive at the time but is way stronger than aEs. aEs gets a chance to play some ladders along with CC members, CC gets some new members of decent strength (and nub me :p) to have a slightly bigger (active) team.
Why is this unfair? What exactly are we doing that Cx or t3 haven't done to a larger extent? Rushing ladders? nope. Too much members who play ladders? nope. far from it.
"aes might be as well and if not they will just have to find other alternatives, just like CDF." Like falling into decay? No thanks.
"CC is very capable (especially with Lahm, Ius, Kyro, Anna) to play ladder matches on their own." Sorry, but are you to dense to realize THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY'RE DOING? Only under the name RDS, which includes a few people from aes who hardly ladder, and are weaker than the active CC members.
Please tell me why this is so unfair compaired to Cx/t3, because you kinda lost me there... |

Go to | 2012-08-01 | Rearrangement | Believe me, with the commentator switching players often, as well as the 3-10+ seconds delay, in CWs and important matches the pace is usually so fast that doing this would give about as much advantage as an unlimited blaster hack.
Recording JJ2 from a spectating client is always a bit of a mess. This is why Jazz25 will allow servers to save replays. You can then load these files, and review the match at any speed you want, while it behaves like you are spectating live. |

Go to | 2012-06-17 | A cheat-, shit-, a sheetstorm | @TW: Ah, that makes kinda sense, thank you. |
Go to | 2012-06-17 | A cheat-, shit-, a sheetstorm | From the rules:
Second (or more) offence the cheater: -receives a ban of up to 2 years from any competitive JJNet games, including tournaments arranged in collaboration with JJNet (JJ2WC, National Tournament, Duel tournaments, ...). -receives a ban of up to 2 years from associated servers, but as a principle, this part of the punishment will be shorter than the former aprt, for the purpose of reintegration.
So hakum gets 1 year and 6 months respectively? Fine with me, but made me curious about what one has to do to recieve the maximum punishment...

Go to | 2012-06-05 | RDS vs. -t3> (CTF ladder match) | Ok, point taken. It's true lith doesn't always act mature, but none of us does. He is however, in my opinion, a good leader of aEs because he is able to act mature when that's needed for a descision.
As for you, CR, I did not meant to insult you, I just wanted to keep people from commenting on my first post with "HAHAHA CR MATURE NO WAY" kind of comments, because you tend to be trollbait (as am I because i keep replying here, I guess...).
Anyway, my original point of replying to snooze was to see what we were doing wrong in his eyes. While that does make you vulnerable to trolls, sometimes it does give you useful hints for improvement when other really dislike something for a reason.
Anyway, gg on this match

Go to | 2012-06-05 | RDS vs. -t3> (CTF ladder match) | I wouldn't have responded if i knew he was trolling, I just wanted to know why he insulted RDS.
I know it's rare on the internet, but sometimes people HAVE a reason for their insults...

Thanks for the info |
Go to | 2012-06-05 | RDS vs. -t3> (CTF ladder match) | So, who are you referring to with "Wannabe retards"?
The clans that formed RDS, aEs and CC, had the most mature people in the community. And yes, I know CR sometimes acted immature, but he's not even in RDS anymore.
So can you please atleast give a reason if you make accusations like this? If you just caal people retards without backing it up, you'll come across as an immature retard, not RDS.
Also, thanks for making 'funny' jokes about the clans name. If "Retard down syndrome" is the best you can come up with, you might reconsider who is the retard here... |

Though i have to agree: Our alliance's description IS a bit lame... |
Go to | 2012-04-21 | RDS vs. ib) (CTF ladder match) | "lol, maybe we should make an alliance ready to defend JJ2 from ignorance and animu"
Ignorance? I don't see it... The only thing I see is a troll (you) leading a bunch of immature kiddo's. If there's anything JJ2 needs defending from, it's certainly not CC or aEs, nor the alliance between both of 'em.
When we (aEs) where discussing who to ask for an alliance, I among others voted for CC. Not because they have power, or mad skills. also not to 'hide behind their warteam', I mean where's the fun about that... I voted for CC because I like their members, who are mature and, well, nice which can't be said about some people in some other clans.
If by 'JJ2' you mean this community, then looking at the recent past (the Radar v2 incident), I'd say the one thing this community needs defending from is itself. If only one cheating tool gets released, and a ****ty one at that (no offense, Artem), well, that really shos what a stable community this is.
I'm not gona speak for the rest of aEs, that's their own job, but let me say that I never wanted to 'hide' behind CC. Let's face it, in terms of gameplay I'm a big n00b. If I played only to win, I would've quit this game long ago.
Also, trying to diss the alliance by picking on a Japanese drawing style that only CR and I like only shows what a pathetic immature kid you are.
hf commenting on typo's i obviously made. |
Go to | 2012-04-20 | The new season! | That's just how confident he is!
@Mac: Anubis is right, public or private shouldn't matter here, as the compiled code has to be included in the executable either way. Though this particular case (autochatting) is not really a security threat, other functions (maybe in other programs) could be.
The best way to solve this imo is indeed an OS level sandbox, maybe optional so you can still do stuff like this, but 'secure' programs like banking software could call an OS-API function to be placed in a sandbox. |
Go to | 2012-04-19 | The new season! | @Vegito: I understand. If DZ doesn't want more (untrusted) admins, then a report system will be fine too.
@Mac: Ok, here it is:
Most programs contain functions. These functions are pieces of code that can be executed to do something that is needed at more than 1 place. Jazz2, for example, has a 'Chat' function.
You can give a function data, called a parameter. So it's 'Chat(text to chat)'
When you compile a program, the function is stored at an address in memory. So no more calling it by the name. Thats why one does not simply call Chat in Jazz2.
To use the chat function, you must create a thread (which is something that executes code) in the process of Jazz2, and pass it the location of the function in memory.
However, Jazz2 has no access to our programs memory. Because of that, we can't simply give our data (the text to chat) to the thread. We need to write it to Jazz2's memory, and then tell the thread we make to pass that data, now in Jazz2's memory, to the function.
Then the thread is executed, calling Jazz2's Chat function with the text we wrote to Jazz2's memory. This results in the Jazz2 client chatting the desired text, such as '/stop' in this case.
Hope that clears it up a bit. |
Go to | 2012-04-19 | The new season! | Ofcourse
As you know, plus commands work by chatting a command (duh xd) My program simply chats '/stop', causing the jj2+ command to be activated.
If you meant the commands I implemented, the program checks if jj2's chatstring matches a text.
If that's what you want to know, I hope it helps. If you meant how I chat in jj2 without emulating keypresses or stuff, I can explain but it's a long story and most of the work on discovering that was done by others. |
Go to | 2012-04-19 | The new season! | I agree, but not only for jj.net
