The curent "plus-team" has had almost_10_years to work on this project.
Gamedevelopmentschedulesincludedeadlines; so, I suggest that for the people who are still working as a part of the plus-team: it's about time to finish off with whatever you're doing now, in terms of the JJ2-plus development project; and, let the next group continue with the project, for whomever might have any "fresh, new ideas" about continueing the effort toward this particular development project.
Code:
-> JJ2-plus development seemed to have been transfferred to a differrent dev-group, or, "development group" during the timeframe of 2011-2013 ...
... so, that means if you've still been working on plus since then, it means you're now at risk of not being able to enjoy the reward of your own effort

-For reference, I.M.O., recent versions of the mod "plus" for JJ2,
have inarguably introduced some design flaws,
or design elements that are arguably flaws:
-> Chat lags, any line of text was making the game window freeze for a splitsecond
-> In 800x600 resolution the sprites are too small, could be enlarged to look more normal
-> Wasteful to have the app search for new downloadable versions every time it opens
-> Some levels include too many extra files to download from servers
-> Many of the custom variables (weapons, physics, visualizers, etc.) deviate from fun enjoyable gameplay
-> To have logs from a game always saved is an inexplicable or faulty allocation of prioritys
=-> The levels and its extra files could be repackaged into one file for each level
=-> Servers could be made to standardize their protocols to streamline procedures
=-> Mod download site not adhering to official guidelines or regulations about monitoring the distro
=-> Sprites could be redrawn to appear at a more proportional size at 800x600 resolution
=-> Levels designed for newer release mods aren't all compatible with an official 1998-1999 version of 1.23 or 1.24
=-> Chat could be removed to allow for more dynamic or abstract custom rules levels that utilize extrapolations upon the default engine
-=-=Fundamentally also noting there have been a plethora of "JJ2+" mods that are extremely variant
in their overall design scheme, and examining the rationale for each distro release,
there hasn't been a display of creativity in naming each subsequent release version:
-=-=Simply numbering mods like "JJ2+ 3-1" , "JJ2+ 4-3" , "JJ2+ 5-2" ...
Could be improved upon, in terms of providing a description of what is being offered objectively.
-=-=These are some things for any dev-group to consider,
when making their creation available for their target audience to acquire (product labeling)
.....It therefore gives the impression of being a game mod or a product that was released before the final product had been finalized.
